1 Boneless JD Farms Turkey Roast (breast or mixed)
1 Bottle Stonewall Kitchen Sesame Ginger Teriyaki Sauce/ Marinade
1 tbsp Olive oil
Salt & Pepper
Mild smoking wood of your choice
Preparing turkey roast:
Rinse turkey roast and pat dry. Rub with olive oil and salt and pepper. Place in glass dish and pour about 1/2 bottle of marinade over turkey roast. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight. Brush marinade from dish over turkey roast several times. Place a meat thermometer into the turkey roast before barbequing.
Slow cooking turkey:
Place smoking chips in smoker box and put box on grill over direct heat or place chips directly on coals. Place roast in center of grill over indirect heat at a very low temperature (approx. 275 degrees). Cook turkey roast until temperature on meat thermometer reaches 170 degrees (about 3 hours), baste frequently with remaining 1/2 bottle of marinade. If heat source is on one side of grill and not all around, rotate the roast occasionally to ensure even browning.
When done, remove turkey from grill and let sit for 10 minutes before carving. Slice, serve and enjoy!
