Turkey Taco Lettuce Wraps
This is a great Low-carb version of Tacos. No shells, just lettuce.
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 3/4 cup Chopped onion
- 1lb JD Farms mixed ground turkey
- 2 Cloves garlic, crushed
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp Chili Powder
- 1 Tsp Ground Cumin
- 1/2 Tsp Paprika
- 1/2 cup Tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup Low-sodium turkey or chicken broth
- 1 head Iceberg or Romaine lettuce for serving
- Shredded low-fat Mexi cheese, diced tomatoes, chopped red onion, diced avocado, chopped fresh cilantro and light sour cream for serving
Directions
Heat oil in a non-stick fryingpan over medium-high heat. Add onion and saute for 2 minutes. Add ground turkey and garlic. season with Salt & Pepper and cook, breaking up turkey until cooked through, approximately 5 minutes. Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, tomato sauce and broth. Reduce to simmer and cook another 5 minutes or until sauce has reduced. Serve mixture on lettuce leaves with desired toppings.
